چکیده

The fluid leakage channel found in contact mechanical seals belongs to the microchannel category. Thus, upon further inspection, influence of surface wettability and other factors neglected previous studies becomes obvious. porous model considering presented this paper was based on Cassie slip theory. variations length velocity under various conditions were studied relationship between apparent angle established. Moreover, using media theory, theoretical rate considers depending parameters. observed parameters included angle, sealing medium pressure, viscosity coefficient, fractal dimension, maximum pore diameter. simulation results obtained proposed have shown that increases with increase angle. Particularly when pressure is small, more significant. Furthermore, via compared those existing models. comparison confirmed applicable necessity significantly affects calculation accuracy. lays a foundation for improving accuracy, making it easier both researchers practitioners suppress seals.

A Sub Loading Surface Multilaminate Model for Elastic-Plastic Porous Media

A framework for development of constitutive models based on semi-micromechanical aspects of plasticity is proposed. The resulting of this model for material employed friction type failure criterion, sub-loading surface, and associated flow rule. This model is capable of predicting effects of the rotation of principal stress/strain axes and consequent plastic flow, induced anisotropy of strength...

Multiscale Multiphysic Mixed Geomechanical Model for Deformable Porous Media Considering the Effects of Surrounding Area

Porous media of hydro-carbon reservoirs is influenced from several scales. Effective scales of fluid phases and solid phase are different. To reduce calculations in simulating porous hydro-carbon reservoirs, each physical phenomenon should be assisted in the range of its effective scale. The simulating with fine scale in a multiple physics hydro-carbon media exceeds the current computational ca...

Dynamic Contact Angle on a Surface with Gradient in Wettability

The retention and drainage of water on heat exchangers is extremely important in air-conditioning, refrigeration, and heat-pumping systems. In this work, droplets of varying sizes sliding on an inclined heat exchanger materials with and without a wettability gradient are observed using a high-speed camera. The dynamic contact angles, the shape evolution and the velocity of the droplet are obtai...

Stabilizing fluid–fluid displacements in porous media through wettability alteration

We study experimentally how wettability impacts fluid–fluid displacement patterns in granular media. We inject a low-viscosity fluid (air) into a thin bed of glass beads initially saturated with a more-viscous fluid (a water/glycerol mixture). Chemical treatment of glass surfaces allows us to control the wetting properties of the medium and modify the contact angle θ from 5 deg (drainage) to 12...

Wettability and Contact Time on a Biomimetic Superhydrophobic Surface

Inspired by the array microstructure of natural superhydrophobic surfaces (lotus leaf and cicada wing), an array microstructure was successfully constructed by high speed wire electrical discharge machining (HS-WEDM) on the surfaces of a 7075 aluminum alloy without any chemical treatment. The artificial surfaces had a high apparent contact angle of 153° ± 1° with a contact angle hysteresis less...
